The game that everyone had marked on their calendars lived up to the hype for some.
Saturday's game between Alabama and Georgia was a rematch of last season's SEC title game, which Bama won as the No. 8 team in the country. Georgia had previously been in first place with 42 wins out of 43 games, but Bama's win moved them up in the standings. They eliminated Georgia from the College Football Playoff.
Well, it was simply epic.

After trailing by four touchdowns, No. 4 Alabama scored a late touchdown and cruised to a 41-34 victory over No. 2 Georgia. It was a classic match of the moment.
Alabama scored four touchdowns in the first 18 minutes of the game and took a commanding 28-0 lead, but Georgia fought back until the end. Georgia, trailing 33-15, found the end zone when it desperately needed to, but the two-point attempt failed. However, after forcing a punt, the Bulldogs scored again and suddenly the lead against Bama was down to just four points. Georgia then forced another punt, but Bama wasted no time and got the ball back until a timeout with 2:42 left to take the lead.
Well, it took Georgia just one play to take the lead when Carson Beck found Dillon Bell for a 67-yard score for a 34-33 lead. Beck's rush on the two-point conversion was short-lived, but the comeback was complete nonetheless, and Bama, who had an early advantage, suddenly found itself in desperation mode.
No need to worry. It was 17-year-old Ryan Williams who received a 75-yard pass home from Jalen Milroe and completed the two-point conversion, giving Bama a seven-point lead.
The Bulldogs faced a fourth-and-2 with 1:22 left at the Bama 47, Beck found Colby Young for a first down, and three plays later the Bulldogs were in the red zone. But Beck was intercepted as he entered the end zone, and Bama took a knee on the touchback for the win.
Georgia finally scored a touchdown midway through the second quarter. However, Beck was charged with intentional grounding in his own end zone and was subsequently made a safety. But apparently, that was all Georgia needed at halftime, despite trailing 30-7.

Beck found Arian Smith for a 12-yard touchdown for the first score of the third quarter. They took a big risk by fighting two people, but it was a success. But Bama's field goal made it a three-possession game late in the third. On Georgia's ensuing drive, Beck lost a fumble. But they weren't dead yet, and the comeback began on the next drive. But Beck's final turnover came at the worst possible time, as he was unable to get a stop when he needed it most.
The game was the first loss of the season for Georgia State, which had just one loss in a 43-game stretch and two losses in its last five games. They are 45-3 in their last 48 games, with all three losses coming to Alabama (although one of those wins came against the Crimson Tide in the 2022 National Championship). Bama, on the other hand, improved to 4-0.
Milroe completed 27 of 33 passes for 373 yards, threw two touchdowns, and ran for two more. Williams, 17, had SX catches for 177 yards and a touchdown. Beck turned the ball over four times, but still managed to throw for 439 yards. Smith gained 132 yards and Bell added 100 yards.
The appearance of Donald Trump was also a hot topic at this game. The former president and current Republican candidate received applause from fans as he walked the halls and appeared on the jumbotron.
