A total of four babies were discovered that day. Investigators said all four were frozen solid inside a shoe box wrapped in foil. Two were male and two were female, and DNA testing revealed that they were all siblings. They were also thought to be between 37 and 40 weeks.
The medical examiner reported that there was no scientific way to determine how long the infant had been frozen. An autopsy found no signs of internal or external trauma and no evidence of obvious injury. The report also said there was no evidence of food, milk or formula in the infant’s stomach.
The medical examiner also determined that the cause of death for all infants was “unknown” and it was not possible to conclusively determine whether the infants were born alive.
Investigators located Aldamir at a residential health care facility and eventually obtained a court order to take a DNA sample. The results confirmed that she was the mother of four babies.

Aldamir’s colleagues, who worked at a Boston accounting firm from March 1980 to October 2021, described her as “a sturdy woman who likes to wear loose-fitting clothes no matter the season.” He praised it. They also told her investigators that she did not know she was pregnant.
Additional DNA testing revealed that the fathers of all four babies had died in 2011, and that Aldamir had given birth to a girl in April 1982.
Investigators also found two parental waiver forms, one signed by Aldamir and the other signed by the father of the four frozen babies.
Through the investigation, authorities determined that Aldamir had five children with the same man, one of whom he had adopted. The remaining four were found dead in Aldamir’s apartment in November 2022.
Investigators said they encountered several challenges while working to determine whether a crime could be proven.
First, investigators said they needed proof that the victim was alive in order to charge him with murder. A doctor will also need to determine the cause of death.
