Investigation Underway After Shooting at Sacramento News Station
Authorities are looking into a shooting incident that occurred at the ABC10 News Station in Sacramento, California, on Friday afternoon.
Police officers were called to the scene around 1:30 PM, responding to reports of the shooting. Fortunately, an employee was present in the building during the incident, but, thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Local news outlets shared footage showing at least three bullet holes in one of the station’s windows. Reports suggest that shots were fired from a vehicle, prompting swift action from law enforcement.
Interestingly, there was a small protest outside the station the day before the shooting. About 15 individuals were demonstrating against ABC’s decision to pull comedian Jimmy Kimmel from the air over comments regarding the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and the alleged assassin.
In relation to ownership, Disney owns the ABC network, while the ABC10 affiliate is under Tegna, which is currently in the process of being acquired by Nexstar Media Group for a whopping $6.2 billion.
Following the shooting, additional police presence has been established near other stations, such as ABC7 in San Francisco.
