Gun control advocate Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) responded to the September 15, 2024 assassination attempt on President Donald Trump by claiming that President Trump himself is inciting “political violence.”
He also claimed Trump supports “political violence.”
Murphy posted on X:
The same day that Murphy posted on X, defeated presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow that Trump was “a danger to our country and the world.”
Additionally, Breitbart News noted that David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Kamala Harris, called for the eradication of former President Donald Trump and “those like him,” according to a 2016 post he made on X. This is another example of Democrats calling for harm against the former president, and comes in the wake of another assassination attempt.
On June 13, 2016, Plouffe, who served as an adviser to then-President Barack Obama, posted, “It's not enough to just defeat Trump. We must destroy him. We must never allow someone like him to rise again.”
But Senator Murphy Claims“No leader has incited and supported political violence more than Donald Trump.”
