Authorities in North Carolina arrested a man Thursday in connection with the disappearance and murder of 25-year-old Fayetteville woman Heather Williams.
Williams was reported missing on January 4 and was last seen in a light-colored four-door sedan near Berkshire Road just before 10 p.m., the newspaper said. Fayetteville Police Department (FPD).
The FPD Homicide Unit, with assistance from the department's Violent Crimes Enforcement Team, arrested Tyrell Jack Sealmons, 30, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with Williams' death. Indicted.

The suspect has a long criminal history in Cumberland County, according to court records. He also faces an out-of-state probation charge starting Jan. 16, the same day he was charged with first-degree murder. That means he was on probation in North Carolina when he was charged with a crime in another state.

His other convictions dating back to 2011 include attempted first-degree murder, attempted kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony possession of a firearm, being a habitual felon, common law robbery, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felonious assault. FPD did not comment on the relationship between the suspect and victim, but said the vehicle Williams was last seen riding in on January 4 was the one that ultimately led them to Sealmons. Ta.

Police said Williams has cognitive impairments that her family said stemmed from being hit by a car in 2015. This was reported by local media WRAL.

Heather's sister, Mary Williams, told WRAL that around the same time she left home on January 4, she contacted a man listed in Heather's phone records. Heather asked the man what kind of car he was driving and if he had picked Heather up that night.

“He said he met her on Facebook. It was either a Facebook date or Messenger, but he couldn't remember which. He said he hung out with her one night, but that was it. I didn't know if it was Saturday night or not,” Mary told the magazine. .

Mary added that when she later contacted the man, he told her, “Yes, that was the car that picked her up.” According to WRAL, she believes Sealmons is the same man who contacted Heather from her phone.

Mr. Sealmons is currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bail.
