North Korea sends more balloons filled with trash to South Korea

South Korea’s military said North Korea continued its operation from earlier this week by sending more balloons filled with garbage to South Korea. The Associated Press report.

Balloons loaded with “filth” crossed the border again on Saturday, landing in several areas of South Korea’s capital, Seoul.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, North Korea sent about 90 balloons filled with cigarette butts, paper bags and plastic bags. report He said Saturday, citing the Seoul military.

North Korea released about 260 balloons across South Korea earlier this week. The Pyongyang government said the launches were in response to a balloon-flying campaign by South Korean activists and defectors carrying anti-North Korea leaflets, according to the Associated Press.

Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, confirmed the balloons were sent in retaliation for activists’ protests. “We decided it would be best to drop the balloon and retrieve it safely,” South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff spokesman said Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
