“Originally we were doing it at Christian’s Tailgate and we did most of our events there, but then they started calling us and sending us messages on social media saying they were going to boycott. People started saying all kinds of things like, “They’re going to participate.” Because of the protests, the venue cooled down in a way, and they said they didn’t want to hold the event anymore, but we completely respected that. It is our right as a private company,” Somogay said.

“We sent an internal email to the list announcing that the meeting location had been moved,” Somogay told DCNF. “About 20 minutes after I sent that email, Presley called me and said he would be in touch again. But this time too, Presley was flooded with calls and people were saying they were going to boycott. They were going to show up and protest, and they told me…someone called and threatened to burn down the building.”
“So at that point, as an organization, we decided it was best to put on the brakes,” Somogay continued. “As we said in our statement, the safety and well-being of our members and guests is always our top priority.”
At demonstrations following the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas on multiple locations in southern Israel, some protesters have said things like “resistance is justified,” while other protesters have implication To destroy Israel.

“It is important to note that as an organization we are not going to be bullied into canceling events and we are going to stand by our principles,” Somogay told DCNF. “And it’s kind of ironic how this is going to play out, because this event that we’re doing now is going to be bigger than the one tonight, and it’s going to bring in more shows and more support. ” So it’s just… ironic, because what they wanted to accomplish doesn’t happen, and the exact opposite happens as a result of what they did. ”
