Notre Dame Beats Michigan State 27-10

No. 3 Notre Dame kept its unbeaten record intact with a 27-10 win over Michigan State on Saturday night in South Bend. Quarterback CJ Carr was instrumental, completing 18 of 24 passes for 234 yards and running for a three-yard touchdown that solidified the Irish’s lead in the fourth quarter.

Micah Gilbert was a standout among the receivers, gathering eight catches for 170 yards, highlighted by a 61-yard grab. Nolan James Jr. contributed with 76 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Aneyas Williams added to the score from the ground as well.

Defensively, Notre Dame was impressive, limiting Michigan State to just 167 total yards and forcing two turnovers. Adon Shuler and Luke Talich each recorded an interception against Spartans quarterback Alessio Milivojevic.

The Irish jumped to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to a Spencer Porath field goal and James’ two-yard touchdown run. Although Michigan State managed to narrow the gap, the Fighting Irish regained a comfortable two-touchdown lead just before halftime.

Michigan State’s only touchdown came from Cam Fancher, who scored a 15-yard run, cutting it to 17-10 with a little over three minutes left in the first half. However, they couldn’t find the end zone again and ended the game scoreless thereafter.

With this victory, Notre Dame improved to 3-0 while Michigan State faced its first defeat, falling to 2-1.
