Djokovic Advances in US Open Amid Hostile Crowd

Late Tuesday night, Novak Djokovic secured his place in the semifinals of the US Open by defeating Taylor Fritz in a tense four-set match. The victory propels the 38-year-old Djokovic to the semifinals, where he will meet world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz. For Fritz, this loss marked another chapter in a lengthy drought for American men’s singles champions at Grand Slam events, the last of which was Andy Roddick’s victory at the US Open in 2003.
