Serbian superstar tennis player Novak Djokovic has faced criticism. He was harshly ridiculed and banned from some of the world's biggest tournaments for refusing to be vaccinated at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Back in 2022, he told a BBC reporter in a now famous interview that his ban from competition “was the price.” [he was] I am willing to pay to maintain my bodily autonomy.
“My decision-making principles regarding my body are more important than any title,” he said confidently, despite the interviewer's obvious disapproval.
Today, Djokovic is revered by many as an anti-vaccine hero.
However, there are some people in the world who believe in the infallibility of vaccines and continue to criticize the athletes' decisions. This was evident in the matches played over the weekend during the Australian Open.

Without reacting, Djokovic delivered what is known as an ace, a serve so perfectly hit that his opponent couldn't even hit back.
“That’s what it’s all about: standing up for what you believe in and doing what you think is right,” Dave says.
