Numerous supporters of Kamala Harris in North Carolina believe her political career is effectively over.

Many Democrats in North Carolina seem to have a dim view of the political prospects for former Vice President Kamala Harris, as reported by the Washington Post.

In a significant swing state, a number of Democratic voters expressed strong dissatisfaction with the idea of Harris pursuing a White House run in 2028. This report surfaced as Harris promoted “107 Days,” which was released by Mediablitz on Tuesday.

Chip Hunter, a 70-year-old psychologist, mentioned to the Washington Post that while Harris “has a future party position,” he doubted she would emerge as the party’s leading candidate. In a similar vein, 28-year-old lawyer Amy Ortega described Harris as representative of “the past,” explaining, “I see her as the past… the ball was dropped. I think it’s hard to convince me anyway.”

Victoria Peterson, a 72-year-old political activist, expressed some hope that Harris might symbolize the future, yet voiced concerns: “I haven’t heard much about her on a grassroots level… People really didn’t have the opportunity to really get to know her,” she added.

William F., a 60-year-old account manager, shared thoughts with friends about Harris’s political future, suggesting it might be over due to her recent writings. Meanwhile, 66-year-old retired doctor’s assistant Allison Keenan acknowledged that Harris could be a capable leader but harbored skepticism about the support she would receive in future votes. Keenan said, “I believe in a second chance, and I definitely think she will be a good leader in the future,” but also noted uncertainty about the broader public sentiment.

Corey Ritter, a 23-year-old recent graduate, indicated he believes Harris has potential for future Democratic leadership, saying, “I’d love to see her run again.” In a recent interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Harris reflected on her failure to communicate concerns about President Biden’s decision to run for re-election in 2024, calling it “reckless.” Reports suggest some Democrats and Biden’s team are frustrated with her commentary in her new book.

Former White House press secretary Kaylee McKennanny pointed out that Harris has not acknowledged her own “incompetence” on a recent appearance on “Fox & Friends.” Recently, Harris stated she would not pursue a run in the 2026 California governor race, fueling speculation regarding a possible bid for the presidency in 2028.

Kenneth Hughes, a 32-year-old, commented on Harris’s potential candidacy: “I think she’ll be part of the candidate field. But… I’m not looking at a path forward for her… She could be part of the past for me.”

As of now, Harris’s office has not responded to inquiries from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
