NY mom horrified to find 4-year-old daughter’s Burger King meal splattered with blood, fast food chain ‘deeply upset and concerned’

A New York mother was horrified when she discovered blood splattered on the Burger King kid’s meal she ordered for her daughter.

Tiffany Floyd took her 4-year-old child through a fast food drive-thru in Getzville, New York, on Friday around 12 p.m. and was shocked to find her food covered in red liquid.

“All I heard was, ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup,’ so I thought maybe they’d gotten the order wrong again and I grabbed the bag and there was blood all over the burger and the wrapper. I looked in the bag and there was blood on the toys and everything,” Floyd, who lives in Sanborn, about 30 minutes north of Buffalo, told The Washington Post.

“So I immediately told her to spit her food out. She ate some fries and some burger. And then I looked at my food and there was blood on my food too.”

Floyd claims he immediately called the restaurant and manager Dan “notified me that a cook had cut his hand and was bleeding.”

“And he was really sorry and said he’d refund me when I got back.”

She also called her daughter’s pediatrician and was told she would have to wait 30 days before she could have her daughter’s blood tested to see if she had the disease.

“Then have regular blood tests for a year to make sure there aren’t any abnormalities,” she adds.

The store manager would not tell her who the injured employee was.

“If I could get my husband tested, my daughter wouldn’t have to get the shot,” she said.

Floyd also contacted the local health inspector from the Niagara County Health Department to file a report. “The inspector spoke to the same manager, who said, ‘Yes, someone had cut their finger, but I didn’t think it was bleeding that bad,'” Floyd recalled.

The Niagara County Health Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Floyd contacted Burger King’s corporate headquarters through its website on Friday and was contacted by a company representative on Saturday afternoon who said the company would pay for her daughter’s medical expenses.

“We told Burger King that their medical bills are not enough,” Floyd said.

“And since then she hasn’t eaten anything and I’m extremely worried. What if she needs professional help for this?”

The company said it was “deeply disturbed and concerned to learn of this incident.”

“We are extremely upset and concerned to learn of this incident. We have been in contact with our guests and are working to resolve this incident. This incident occurred when a member of our restaurant staff injured their finger and left the scene immediately upon realizing it. We have closed the restaurant, retrained all staff and hired an outside company to perform a deep cleaning,” the company said in a statement. “The restaurant plans to reopen on Monday and will fully pay staff for shifts lost during this temporary closure.”
