NYC brute kicks 79-year-old in face, knocking him out: cops

A thug randomly kicked an elderly man to the ground, knocking him unconscious and seriously injuring him in a brutal attack in Brooklyn this week, police said.

The assailant approached the 79-year-old victim. identified by WABC As Saleh Yahya, authorities said he was walking along Flatbush Avenue near Lincoln Road in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens on Monday just before 11 p.m.

Police said the man kicked the senior in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.

Yahya told WABC from his hospital bed that all he remembers is buying food and waking up in the hospital.

He was taken to Kings County Hospital Center in serious but stable condition and had no apparent prior interaction with the suspected attacker, police said.

The vicious attack left him with four broken ribs and damage to his spleen, the network reported.

“I don’t feel well,” Yahya told WABC, adding that he was also suffering from a cut on his head and pain on his face. “It’s terrible. I can’t even move.”

The seriously injured man, who is in his 70s, said he did not know when he would be able to leave the hospital, adding that he had no family to take care of him.

Police on Friday released surveillance footage of the suspect, who remains at large.
