A 26-year-old man died Friday after jumping from an upscale Manhattan co-op in an apparent suicide, police said.
The young man was found in the rear yard of the Imperial House on East 69th Street off Lexington Avenue in Lenox Hill around 7:40 p.m.
He had “injuries consistent with a fall from a height,” New York City police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said no foul play was suspected.
It was not immediately clear from what floor of the 30-story building the man jumped.
Imperial House has been described by real estate agents as “one of the finest and most attractive co-operative properties that combines elegance and service.”
The two-bed, two-bathroom co-op sells for $1,900,000, but the price for an additional bed and bath increases to a shocking $3,495,000. According to the list.
The late actress Joan Crawford called the Imperial House, then an apartment, her home from 1968 until her death in 1977.
