NYC mom died during botched implant procedure by sham plastic surgeon

Records show that weeks after the March procedure, two mothers died after the procedure was processed by a fake Queens doctor to remove butt implants.

María Paz Peñaloza, 31, first left left brain dead last month after an attempt to remove the implants inside an illegal liposuction clinic at her home in Ditmars Steinway, but on April 11th she took off life support.

According to a complaint filed in Queens Crown Court, Felipe Joyo Folonda, who was arrested at JFK airport to escape and administered lidocaine to the victim.

“I never imagined this would happen,” said the victim’s sister, Linnie Penaroza Cabrera, 34; He told the Daily News. “A friend who went with Maria called me and said she was taken away by ambulance, but I didn’t know how bad it was.”

“My friend had already gone there for surgery and recommended him, so she went there,” she added. “Since the ambulance arrived, while she was in the hospital, [doctors] I was about to revive her for two and a half hours. ”

Prosecutors at Queens District Attorney’s Office believe Penaroza died of lidocaine toxicity. Lidocaine is generally safe, but is toxic by mistake or large injections in wide areas.

While the victim was in the hospital, her friend went to an illegal clinic in Hoyos-Foronda to pick up her belongings, a source told the Post.

Sources said the landlord told his friend what had happened and urged him to call police.

Police were able to track the license plates of Hoyos-Foronda’s car to the Van Wyck Expressway. Then a Port Authority officer caught him at the airport, where he was preparing to board a plane back to Colombia.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, felony and unfair occupational practices.

The Queen’s DA’s office did not immediately respond to an investigation into a post about whether his charges have been upgraded since Penaroza’s death.
