Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the assault and robbery of an elderly woman outside a church in Queens on Sunday.
The incident occurred as the 68-year-old woman was climbing the stairs outside St. Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church on 152nd Street in Briarwood, Fox 5 reported. report on friday.
As the woman moved away, a suspect wearing all black approached her and punched her as she fell down the stairs. Law enforcement said the suspect searched her belongings and fled with her wallet containing $300 in cash, her cell phone and car keys.
The suspect is also suspected of fleeing in a vehicle, Fox reported, adding, “Police announced the suspect was arrested on multiple felonies, including robbery of a woman.”
The victim suffered a skull fracture and a black eye, but is reportedly in stable condition at a local hospital.
According to Breitbart News, the news comes as women across Democratic-run New York City claim to have been brutally punched during their daily lives.
The paper’s John Nolte wrote, “This incident is now so prevalent that even the corporate media is covering the story.”
Meanwhile, members of a church in Queens talked Fox 5 told the news station that the victim is in critical but stable condition.
Father Konstantinos Kalogridis said: “This horrific act of forcefully pushing her down the steps of a church is unprecedented in a church.”
The suspect is currently charged with robbery, assault, grand theft, and possession of stolen property in the incident.
