NYPD Detective Sparks Outrage Pole Dancing in a G-String for Racy Rap Music Video

A detective in New York Police Department (NYPD) caused great outrage in her community with pole dancing in a G-string in a Racy Rap Music video.

Melissa Mercado has served in the NYPD Special Victims squad for seven years and was a respected detective on her field.

“A girl named Keisha match,” the rapper said in the video in the video for his song “Doin That.” “A-thick. I just want to grind it straight away. I like the way she does it, the way she lets the pole slide.”

“I have no words,” the disgusted detective said. New York Post.

According to postrecords show that Mercado is “a $144,000 per year detective assigned to special victims of the Bronx.” She had not earned credits on the video, but NYPD sources identified the woman as Mercado. While some detectives expressed disgust, the NYPD Police Union said she would not commit crimes that could easily fire, and would simply file a “non-working employment application.”

“What she's doing has nothing to do with her as an employee of NYC detectives,” a police union source told the Post. “She's not wearing any NYPD tools. There's nothing in the video that says she's a detective.

“If she's performing for money, if she has a side gig, the job would want to know about it,” the source added. “Members are obligated to submit employment applications outside of work. I would say that what she is doing on the video is not a departmental business.”

Retired NYPD Special Victims Director Michael Osgood felt differently by calling her actions “not pretending to be an executive.”

“There's a line of thinking that you're working, that you're not working,” Osgood said. “But I think this is dealing with police officers. If you're a special victim detective, I think it's morally wrong.”
