NYPD officers shoot, critically injure 34-year-old NYC man in Bronx after he charges at them with knife: police

NYPD officials shot and killed a knife-wielding man in the Bronx on Thursday night, where he allegedly was charged by officers.

Police responded to a report of a man armed with a knife inside an apartment on Malford Avenue in the Perham Bay section of the borough around 11:20pm, the NYPD said.

The two corresponding officers repeatedly ordered the 34-year-old to drop the knife, but the PERP refused, officers said.

The suspect then “advanced” towards the police officer – the knife was still in his hands, and one of the police officers fired his service weapon and hit the man.

He was rushed to Jacobia Medical Center in dangerous conditions.

Both officers were also taken to community hospitals for evaluation.

Investigators recovered the knife at the scene.
