But Louisville’s celebrations didn’t end there.

Kampe revealed on X Friday that Oakland had received donations from Cardinals fans as part of the endowment. A March Madness tradition.

“A Louisville resident and obvious fan sent Oakland a check with a nice note, saying he usually sends a certain amount of money each year to the school that knocked Kentucky out of the tournament,” Kampe wrote. Ta.

Louisville is celebrating Oakland’s win in the midst of a tumultuous year for the Cardinals basketball program.

Earlier this month, the University of Louisville lost head coach Kenny Payne, who won a national championship as a player at the school in 1986, after two disastrous seasons and a 12-52 record.
