Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Israel is “overstepping the bounds of intent” and causing genocide in Gaza.
“If you want to know what this ongoing genocide looks like, open your eyes. It’s similar in some ways to the forced starvation of 1.1 million people,” Ocasio-Cortez said during the House plenary session. In that moment, we had to write a story about what that meant and who we were as Americans, and our story was that we were good human beings who did nothing right now. That should not be the case.”
Host Jake Tapper said: “Clearly not enough aid is coming in. Clearly the situation for the Palestinians is dire and more needs to be done. Genocide has serious and concrete implications.
