Ocasio-Cortez says she is skipping Trump’s address to Congress in favor of publicity stunt

New York Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Tuesday that he has refused to attend President Donald Trump's first speech to Congress in his second term.

Instead, Rep. Far-Left Firebrand will live stream the event on social media.

“This is not normal. I don't justify it.”

“I won't go to a joint address. I'll post and chat with you guys instead here. Then I live in IG,” she said. I wrote it On the Bluesky platform.

She went on to claim that when she heard Republicans were filling up the Democratic side's seat on the floor of the house, it made it seem like Trump was applauding from that side.

“Each body (home, Senate, Scotus, etc.) has a general seating area, but each party's leadership has an honorable seat, and they even squat down on them,” she said. Added. “If you don't organize it, you might see applause on either side of the aisle, but it could be a GOP.”

This is not the first time she has tried to hijack the president's speech to Congress to attract attention. In 2019, she invited a guest to the federal state a woman who gave a word of mouth after ex-Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake screamed in support of Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation with the U.S. Supreme Court.

In 2020, Ocasio-Cortez boycotted the speech and insisted that he was avoiding “normalizing” the president's actions.

“After much deliberation, I decided not to use my presence in state ceremonies to normalize Trump's lawlessness and subversion,” she said on social media. “This is not normal. I don't justify it.”

Trump will be extremely energised for his speech after a full victory for Republicans in the 2024 election. The GOP regained control of the Senate, maintained control of the House, and took over the oval office.

The president is likely to promote dozens of executive orders he has issued since he took office to dismantle the equipment of the administrative state. Democrats and other left-wing groups have challenged these orders in court, with mixed results.
