Odell Beckham Jr.’s Unique Path Back to the NFL
Odell Beckham Jr. is exploring an unusual route to re-enter the NFL.
Having not played since Week 14 of the 2024 season, Beckham is eyeing his participation in the first-ever Fanatics Flag Football Classic as a potential stepping stone to return.
“I’m eager to get back on the field this year and I hope this can lead to that,” Beckham told FanDuel TV’s Kay Adams before Saturday’s event.
The 33-year-old showcased his skills in his debut game, racking up 35 receiving yards on six catches against Team USA, which is set to compete in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
He even snagged a touchdown catch in the second quarter, leaping over two defenders for an impressive one-handed grab.
Unfortunately, his team lost to Team USA, with a score of 39-14 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
This isn’t Beckham’s first attempt at a comeback after a lengthy absence. The three-time Pro Bowler sat out the entire 2022 season without securing a team while recovering from a torn ACL.
He later joined the Ravens on a one-year contract for the following season.
However, Beckham expressed before the recent game that he’s feeling physically fit this time around and reiterated that his absence in 2025 wasn’t due to any health issues.
He also hinted at an interest in reuniting with the Giants, the team that drafted him at No. 12 in 2014. Beckham mentioned a desire to collaborate with Jackson Dart.
When Adams suggested this possibility, Beckham responded, “That would be great. If the opportunity arises, I’d be excited about it.”
During his five seasons with the Giants, Beckham recorded 390 receptions, totaling 5,476 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns.
His journey also includes stints with the Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins.
