Potential Return of Odell Beckham Jr. to the Giants
Adam Shine recently shared his thoughts on the idea of Odell Beckham Jr. coming back to the Giants during a Tuesday episode of “Schein Time” on YouTube.
He expressed skepticism, saying, “Odell returning to the Giants is one of the most ridiculous concepts I’ve ever heard. Under no circumstances can Odell Beckham Jr. be a Giant again. Odell Beckham Jr. is a thing of the past.”
Interestingly, on Monday, head coach John Harbaugh suggested Beckham, now 33, could be a candidate for the Giants next season.
“The obvious answer is we’ll look at all options, right? If Odell is an option, we’ll definitely consider him,” Harbaugh mentioned at the NFL’s annual league meeting held in Arizona.
Having played under Harbaugh in Baltimore last year, Beckham recorded 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns, which indicates their strong working relationship. Harbaugh added, “He and I talk a lot and we text each other a lot. We have a really great relationship,” emphasizing that discussions about potential team changes occur frequently.
Shine highlighted a key issue—Beckham’s popularity among Giants fans. “Giants fans have a really sick, twisted love affair with Odell,” he noted.
However, if Beckham were to return, he would face tough competition in a crowded wide receiver lineup. Free-agent acquisitions like Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III will join Malik Nabors, who is recuperating from ACL surgery, and veteran Darius Slayton.
Notably, Beckham hasn’t played much since helping the Rams win the Super Bowl in 2021, appearing in only 23 games since then and missing all of 2025 due to performance-enhancing drug suspensions.
