Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine Reveals 33 Bomb Threats in Springfield ‘Have All Been Hoaxes’ from ‘Overseas’

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) announced on Monday that 33 “bomb threats” against schools in Springfield, Ohio, were “all hoaxes” that originated overseas. “None of them are completely baseless,” the governor said. Now, pressure is mounting on mainstream news organizations to apologize to former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).

“We received at least 33 bomb threats, we responded to each of them, and they all turned out to be hoaxes,” Governor DeWine said. “So that's 33 threats, 33 hoaxes. And I want to be very clear: none of them were substantiated at all.”

“So I say to the parents of Springfield: All of these threats were fabricated. None of them came to fruition,” DeWine added.

The Ohio governor added that the fake bomb threats originated from “overseas” and that he believes “certain countries” are using the recent news from Springfield as “another opportunity to cause chaos in the United States.”

“Unfortunately, we have individuals overseas who are engaging in this behavior,” DeWine said, “some of them coming from certain countries. We see this as another opportunity to disrupt the United States, and they continue to do so.”

Pressure is growing on mainstream media, which has tried to link the hoax to the Republican candidate, to apologize to Trump and Vance.

“The left-wing media played into the hands of a foreign adversary last week, weaponizing disinformation and rumours to falsely smear @realDonaldTrump and @JDVance for inciting violence,” Donald Trump Jr. responded. “If they have any sense, they should apologize: @DanaBashCNN @LesterHoltNBC @LinseyDavis.”

Conservative commentator Greg Price pointed out that the mainstream media was telling people “it's all about J.D. Vance's cat meme.”

“All week the media has been armed with hoaxes and disinformation, playing head-on into the agenda of a foreign campaign to meddle in our election and benefit Democrats,” another person said. “Any reporters or media outlets who spread this propaganda should retract and apologize!”

“NBC, CBS and CNN latched onto this Sunday as an excuse to ignore the very compelling criticisms raised by J.D. Vance about the horrors of Kamala's policies,” wrote Kaylan Dorr.

“The media doesn't care about you and they're not telling the truth. They owe JD a huge apology,” Doll added.

“The mainstream media was blaming Trump and Vance for their 'comments' over the weekend about the bomb threat in Springfield, Ohio, but ultimately the governor is saying it was all a hoax, engineered at least in part by a hostile foreign power,” journalist Christopher Rufo said.

“After a week of Democratic media alleging without evidence that President Trump and J.D. Vance instigated bomb threats in Springfield, Gov. Mike DeWine has confirmed that these threats came from abroad,” strategist Andrew Surabian declared.

“@DanaBashCNN and the entire media owe Trump and JD an apology,” Surabian added.

“When will the media apologize after claiming that President Trump incited them?” asked another X user.

“The media has been bashing President Trump for days now. They've lied again. When are they going to apologise to President Trump?” independent journalist Nick Soter agreed.

As Breitbart News reported, the government's arrival of roughly 20,000 immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, was a boon to real estate agents, local employers, car salesmen, merchants, and immigrants, but an unwanted shock to local residents trying to control their community.

President Trump and Governor Vance have highlighted resident concerns in recent weeks, including memes about keeping pets safe after residents alleged that Haitian immigrants had been eating geese found in a local park.

Prank bomb threats then flooded in from overseas, and the mainstream media responded by blaming Trump and Vance.

David Frum, a prominent “Never Trump” advocate and former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, took things a step further, using the fabrication as a way to downplay the second assassination attempt on President Trump on Sunday.
