To no one's surprise, Marvin Harrison Jr. will be selected in this year's NFL Draft.
The Ohio State Buckeyes star and son of a Hall of Famer announced Thursday that he is officially forgoing his senior season and turning pro.
“I want to thank everyone at Ohio State both inside and outside of the football program…” the 2023 Heisman Trophy finalist wrote on Instagram. “The success I have had personally could not have been achieved without the cooperation of each and every one of you. I am grateful for your help and support…”

“Dear Buckeye Nation, the love I received from you both in the shoes and on the road is a moment I will cherish forever, and I hope I was able to leave lasting memories with you on the field. Thank you for your support. Buckeye for life.”
Harrison called being drafted “truly a dream come true.”
However, his soon-to-be former teammate chose to postpone that same dream for another year.
Emeka Egbuka kept his Instagram announcement simple, with a graphic that displayed two words, “I'm back,” larger than the others.

“For the past few weeks, I have been praying and seeking the Lord about what my future holds…I feel like the path He has paved for me is clear to me,” said Egbuka, a fourth-year university student. I wrote this before I went back to grade school. .
In two full seasons (25 games) with the Buckeyes, Harrison caught 144 passes for 2,474 yards and 28 touchdowns, posting roughly the same numbers each season (77-1263-14 last year). (67 wins, 1211 wins, 14 losses this season).
However, Egbuka slumped in 2023 due to an ankle injury. His catches decreased from 74 to 41 and his yards decreased from 1,151 to 515. He had a good chance of being a first-round pick in this year's draft, but perhaps he wants to raise his stock.
Harrison opted out of playing in the Cotton Bowl last month, a clear sign that he would forgo his senior season. Egbuka entered the game and had six catches for 63 yards in the 14-3 loss to Missouri State.

Ohio State is 11-2 this season and appeared to be eliminated from the College Football Playoff after losing three straight to eventual national champion Michigan over rivalry weekend. They went to the Big House 11-0.
Many believe Harrison could be selected as early as No. 3 overall, and it would be a shock if he falls outside of the top five. His father was drafted 19th overall by Syracuse in 1996.
