Oklahoma college students who suspect they were drugged at Cancun resort family reveals details on hospital stay

Two Oklahoma college students who were allegedly drugged at a poolside bar in Mexico were waiting in different countries, while one of the girl’s boyfriends had repeatedly been denied access to the hospital room, leaving family members fearing for their lives.

Kaylee Pitzer and Zara Hull were vacationing in Cancun with friends on August 2nd when they suddenly collapsed after ordering water at the resort’s pool bar.

Horrifying pictures showed students holding hands and resting their heads on the bars before being carried into the room in wheelchairs.

Hal, 20, was rushed to a private hospital after suffering convulsions from the effects of a drug that US doctors believed to be synthetic fentanyl. According to KWTV.

Her boyfriend, Jake Snyder, went with her to the intensive care unit, where she was “so sedated she couldn’t open her eyes or talk,” Snyder’s mother said of the terrifying experience.

“My son wasn’t allowed to stay with her. He had to pay $200 for a room for the night on the second floor, which was on the second floor of the hospital and that floor was completely vacant. It was just a hospital room,” Stephanie Snyder said. I wrote on Facebook.

Snyder said her son was so scared he couldn’t sleep, afraid something would happen.

“He wasn’t able to come back downstairs to see Zara until the next morning. We were in two countries and I spent the whole night praying for her safety and health,” she said.

When Jake Snyder arrived in Hull at 8 a.m. on Aug. 3, his son found him on a ventilator, on a catheter and heavily sedated, Snyder said.

Hospital staff allegedly told Hal they were taking him elsewhere for an MRI scan, leading the family to speculate that this was a front for human trafficking.

“He told them to stop everything from taking her out. We told him ‘Don’t let them take her out, don’t let her do anything else. We were working to get them out!'”

“We believe they were planning to take her for human trafficking or for her organs (I later heard this is a common occurrence),” Snyder’s post added. “They probably did something to my son too, possibly causing his death.”

Snyder said on Facebook that the hospital had already demanded a $10,000 deposit before he could be treated, and then demanded “$25,000 to continue treatment by Sunday morning, or $5,000 to be discharged.”

Hal and Snyder’s family tried to find a Dallas-area hospital to take Hal, but kept getting turned away because private hospitals wouldn’t cooperate by sending over her medical records.

Thirty hours later, with Jake having obtained a partial list of the medications Hal had been given, a family friend secured a $28,000 private jet to rush Hal and Snyder to a hospital in Texas.

Pitzer and her boyfriend managed to get a flight to Dallas, where they “went straight” to a Dallas hospital and shared a hug, she told News 9.

Ms Snyder said she and her daughters’ parents still “cannot close their eyes” to “the horror”, and that Jake “will never forget the hell he went through to get Zara and himself out of there alive”.

“Zara and Kaylee are horrified that they can only remember the events we have shared with them and have no memory of them happening at all, but they are struggling with the fact that it happened to them,” Snyder concluded.

Hull was released from hospital on Friday, but further medical expenses are expected to follow and a GoFundMe has been set up to help with medical expenses. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=3681425468853724&set=pb.100009589215092.-2207520000

Haru’s convulsions were the result of her body reacting to the drugs.

She was released from hospital on Friday but is expected to face further medical expenses. On GoFundMe I prepared for them.
