Social media posts have surfaced that allegedly feature Maine Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner making unusual admissions about his experiences in porta potties.
In a post from March 2017 on Reddit’s r/Military forum, Platner commented on nostalgic military scents, stating, “I always have to masturbate every time I sit in a porta-sitter…that blue water smell was getting me ready.” report.
Another Reddit post from 2021 on the r/USMC forum saw him recalling a detailed drawing of male anatomy that he encountered inside a porta potty during an overseas deployment.
He expressed, “It was beautiful,” in a thread about “GWOT” [Global War on Terrorism] “Dick Art.”
Platner further elaborated, describing the drawing: “That mighty vein rode towards penetrating glory on the wheels of two smoking hot rods, smoke and flame engulfing its bulge, Nike-like wings spread as it surged toward conquest.”
The post included a photo of a soldier grinning next to the offensive graffiti in the portable toilet.
Platner remarked, “I sat there in utter awe, the euphoria of being able to go home overwhelmed by the soul-fulfilling joy of being able to witness such glory.”
Interestingly, these posts originated from an archived Reddit account previously used by Platner, which is now deleted and was known as “P-Hustle.”
This isn’t the first time Platner, who has garnered support from Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, has attracted media attention due to his past online comments.
Last year, he faced backlash for various posts on Reddit, one of which labeled him as a “communist” and “socialist.”
Other remarks included disparaging comments about police and rural Americans, along with a controversial statement suggesting that sexual assault survivors should “take some responsibility for themselves and not be so confused that they end up having sex with someone they don’t want.”
As a newcomer to politics, Platner is also facing scrutiny regarding suspected Nazi-themed tattoos. He has denied affiliation with the Nazi Party and expressed regret that he would not have gotten the tattoo had he understood its implications.
