Algerian boxer Imane Kherif defeated Hungary’s Anna-Luka Hamori by unanimous decision in the 66 kg Olympic boxing bout on Saturday.

Kherif, one of two boxers to have previously failed a gender test, has progressed to the semi-finals where he will face Janjaem Suwannapen of Thailand.

The two athletes who lost in the Olympic semi-finals were awarded bronze medals, meaning Kherif was guaranteed a medal.
