A Pew Research Center survey found that only 25% of Americans rated the economic situation under a Biden-Harris administration as “very good or good.”

Polls show that 75% of Americans say the economy is “fair” or “poor.”
Additionally, 74% of Americans are “very concerned” about rising prices for food and consumer goods. “Other economic concerns, such as housing costs and job opportunities, are increasing beyond 2023,” the poll found.
The poll revealed three negative factors facing a Biden-Harris administration.
Concerns about food and consumer goods prices have remained little changed. Looking ahead to 2022, at least 70% of Americans say they are very concerned about the prices of food and consumer goods.
Concerns about housing costs have increased since last year. The share of Americans expressing strong concerns about housing costs has risen 8 percentage points since April 2023, from 61% to 69%.
Employment concerns are on the rise. One in four Americans say they are very concerned that “people who want to work won't be able to find work,” up nine points from January and 13 points from April 2023.
Pew Poll sampling 9,720 Americans from Aug. 26 to Sept. 2, 2024. The margin of error is plus or minus 1.3 percentage points.
The survey was released as a key indicator that consumer prices rose more than expected in August, signaling a sign of rising inflation, Breitbart News' John Carney reported on Wednesday.
The Labor Department said the core consumer price index, which excludes food and energy prices, rose 0.3% last month, accelerating from a 0.2% increase in July and beating market expectations of a 0.2% increase.
Core inflation rose 3.2% year-on-year.
The bulk of August's increase was due to a 0.5% increase in home prices. Compared to a year ago, the housing index is up 5.2%. Other areas that saw large price increases included airfares, auto insurance, education and clothing.
