OpenAI this week released its text-to-video artificial intelligence model, Sora, after completing a testing phase.
The Microsoft-backed AI startup first unveiled the model in February, rolled it out to ChapterGPT Pro and Plus users at no additional charge on Monday, and X said it was a “holiday gift” to its customers. Ta.
OpenAI said in a blog post that Sora, which creates videos from text, will be available in early 2025 with pricing tailored to different types of users.

Users can generate videos up to 1080 pixels in resolution and up to 20 seconds long in widescreen, vertical or square aspect ratios.

OpenAI said Sora is not yet available in Switzerland and the United Kingdom in the European Union, but the AI models will be accessible in other regions where ChatGPT is present.
The company also announced that it will block the creation and uploading of harmful forms of abuse, such as child sexual abuse material and sexual deepfakes, on Sora to prevent abuse.

“At launch, uploading people will be restricted, but we plan to roll out this feature to more users as we refine our deepfake mitigations,” the company said.
