Producer Andy Irwin said the film shows “the church being the church” and serving others. His Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky is mentioned in the film and plays an important role in helping his father.
“It’s the Good Samaritan idea of ’Who is my neighbor?'” Irwin told Christian Headlines.
“Heroes are often the most unlikely of people. So Sharon, played by Hilary Swank, is a bit of a force of nature. Kingdom Story got the idea for the film from its partner studio Lionsgate, who learned of the idea from singer Dave Matthews.
