Robbery Suspect Arrested After Police Chase in Oregon
A robbery suspect has been apprehended and is now facing multiple charges following a police chase that ended in a crash in Oregon, according to officials.
Deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery report around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 17000 block of Southeast River Road.
After reviewing security footage, a 911 caller reported seeing a man take various items from a home’s garage.
When officers arrived, the caller presented a photo of the suspect, indicating he was driving a white Ford Explorer.
Investigators later identified the suspect as Scottie Nicholas Oldfield.
A deputy spotted his vehicle on Rote Southeast Road, but Oldfield accelerated past him.
Officers began pursuit and attempted to stop the vehicle.
Ultimately, Oldfield collided with another occupied vehicle near Southeast Oatfield Road and Southeast Park Avenue. This caused his SUV to roll over before it crashed into an unoccupied parked car.
The driver of the other vehicle declined medical treatment at the scene.
Oldfield was taken into custody and then transported to a local hospital due to serious injuries.
Upon searching Oldfield’s vehicle, officers discovered items believed to be stolen.
He now faces a range of charges, including second-degree robbery, first-degree theft, attempting to elude police, reckless driving, and more.
Authorities later realized that Oldfield had several outstanding warrants from both Oregon and Washington for various offenses, which include identity theft and assault.
Investigators suspect that Oldfield may have targeted additional victims.
Anyone with additional information about his activities is urged to reach out to the Sheriff’s Office.
