A high school tennis coach has resigned after the Biden administration enacted new rules forcing schools across the country to allow boys to play as girls.
Dave Brown, coach of the Canby High School girls varsity tennis team, cited Joe Biden's Title IX policy in his book. Resignation The announcement was posted on Instagram, Fox News reported.
“This week, I resigned from my position as the girls varsity tennis coach at Canby High School,” he wrote in the post.
“It wasn't an easy decision. I love coaching and enjoy every moment of working with these girls,” Brown continued.
He went on to say that Biden's new Title IX rules put girls at risk of injury.
“But I can no longer stand by and watch their dreams be shattered and their opportunities taken away. I can no longer sit idly by while all the work we put into Title IX is ignored. “No. I cannot support policies that endanger women's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health,” he wrote.
“I stand with my wife. I stand with women. I stand with the truth. Will you stand with me?” Brown concluded.
Brown was reacting to new rules that Biden pushed through last April. The rule expanded the definition of sex discrimination to include gender identity and prevented schools receiving federal funding from barring boys from participating in school sports as girls.
Before coaching the Canby girls team, Brown coached at Newburgh High School for 20 years.
Brown as Cambie coach earned 667 wins and 423 losses in over 1,090 tennis and basketball matches.
Brown said in an accompanying video that he believes it is “dangerous” and “wrong” to allow transgender athletes to play as girls.

“In the locker room, the boys are watching the girls,” he said. “Preparing for practice, games, games. How wrong is it that girls have to put up with things like that?” he asked. “What would have been considered prison five or six years ago is now accepted in high schools and middle schools. It's absolutely wrong that girls should be afraid of this and can't say anything. Masu.”
He also said he could never “lie” to a child that he was a girl.
“We are not protecting K-12 girls and women’s sports right now,” he argued. “We allow men and boys to play these sports.”
“I love coaching and I enjoy every moment of working with the girls,” Brown asserted. “But we can no longer stand by and watch their dreams be shattered and their opportunities taken away,” he said. “We can no longer sit back and watch all the work that went into Title IX. [sic] Ignored. We cannot support policies that endanger women's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. ”
Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer and women's sports activist, praised Brown's decision.
“This is leadership. This is the kind of strong man we've been missing. Seeing this touched me,” she wrote. “Thank you for setting an example and a standard.”
