O’Reilly: Vance succeeded by making 'himself human' at VP debate

(news nation) — Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance “humanized himself” during the vice presidential debate, contributing significantly to his ticket to the Republican Party, Bill O'Reilly told NewsNation on Tuesday night.

O'Reilly praised Vance's performance, saying the senator was “better on his ticket than Waltz's ticket.”

“What J.D. Vance has done is made himself a human being, unlike Donald Trump, who would never do that,” he said. “And he made himself approachable.”

Mr. Vance faced off against Mr. Walz in the first and perhaps only vice presidential debate hosted by CBS News.

The freshman Republican senator from Ohio and the two-term Democratic governor of Minnesota had the opportunity to introduce themselves, make their case for running mate and launch attacks on their opponents.

The two sides were at odds over a number of issues, including the economy, border control, and reproductive rights.

O'Reilly said he thinks Vance won, but “Waltz wasn't bad.”

“I'll invite him to Thanksgiving dinner, but he won't get dessert,” O'Reilly said.

He also agreed that the two had a “much better” time than in September's presidential debate, but lamented that Vance and Walz were “still dodging questions.”
