In an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday, Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz (d) declared that the 2024 issue “Americans didn't believe Democrats or Vice President Harris and I were on their side. Our policy is popular. But it didn't resonate.”
Co-host Ali Melber asked, “Have you learned anything on the campaign path last year? Is there anything you can apply tonight and how Democrats respond ahead of this Trump agenda?”
Waltz replied, yeah. Watch, Donald Trump showman. This is tonight's dog and pony show. He is not planning on laying out anything that would improve the lives of Minnesotans. But he fills the space. ”
Walz continued. “And what I learned is you have to go into every space. What was clear was that Americans believed Democrats and Vice President Harris and myself were on their side. Our policy is popular. But it didn't resonate. And he'll come out there tonight, and he'll get cheers from the many rap dogs kissing his boots. Posing tariffs on farmers is not a good idea. It's not a good idea, but cut people trying to reduce the risk of highly pathogenic avian flu. I'm taking it. And I think what I've learned is that we need to be everywhere, everywhere. On a Saturday night I was in Helena, Montana. Look, we have to believe in ourselves that our message is to improve the lives of middle-class people, so we have to take that message. Donald Trump can't and won't. So I hope it's just nonsense. Tonight is bread and circus. We need to give real real examples of improvements to our lives.”
Waltz also said Democrats must pass laws to improve people's lives, and treated Democrats as having platforms for voters who are inappropriate and are angry at Trump's policies.
