Out Of This World: Start Time Of Marlins-Yankees Game Pushed Back Due To Solar Eclipse

Miami, New York City, it’s already a sexy combination of cities and brands…but will an eclipse be added to the mix?

That’s right, I’m seriously cooking now.

A total solar eclipse will occur across much of the United States on Monday, affecting the start time of the Major League Baseball game between the Miami Marlins and New York Yankees. (Related: Marlins lose Yuri Perez to season-ending Tommy John surgery)

Monday afternoon’s game between the Yankees and the Fish was originally scheduled for a start time of 2:05 p.m. ET, but due to the solar eclipse, the game was postponed to 6:05 p.m. ET.

“After reviewing the challenges of playing through Monday’s solar eclipse, including the potential for delays during the game, Major League Baseball and the Yankees have announced that the Yankees vs. Game start time has been changed from 2:05 p.m. to 6 p.m. “5 p.m.,” the Yankees said in a statement. official statement.

Pinstripes will also have a special promotion at this game, with the first 15,000 fans receiving a Yankees Eclipse T-shirt.

This eclipse happens at the perfect time for me personally.

At my two daughters’ homeschool, science class is held from 1:30pm to 2:30pm ET, so the fact that the eclipse occurs at this time is truly spectacular. We have a lesson plan for both today and Monday to go outside to see the eclipse (complete with eclipse glasses and all). It’s such a perfect science lesson for my daughters.

That’s quite exciting content.
