Fundraising for NHL Reporter Jessie Pierce and Her Children

A GoFundMe page has been close to achieving its goal of $250,000 to support the family of NHL reporter Jessie Pierce and her three children, who tragically lost their lives in a fire at their Minnesota home on Saturday.

As of late Wednesday morning, the campaign has raised over $206,000 intended for funeral expenses and financial help for Pierce’s husband, Mike Heinrichs.

Jessie, aged 37, along with her young children—Hudson, Kayden, and Avery—and their dog, perished in the fire.

The children were reported to be only 4, 6, and 8 years old.

At the time of the fire, Heinrichs was away on a business trip, as noted in reports.

The White Bear Lake Fire Department responded to a call about the blaze shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

“Neighbors who called 911 mentioned seeing flames emerging from the roof and suspected someone might be inside,” the fire department stated in a release.

Authorities have ruled out the possibility of arson so far.

“We are still in the early phases of the investigation, and initial findings don’t indicate that the fire was set intentionally,” said Peterson. “Our main concern is to support those directly impacted by this tragedy, conduct a thorough investigation, and ensure that our first responders can heal in conjunction with the community.”

Pierce had been writing for NHL.com for the last decade, specifically covering the Minnesota Wild. She also co-hosted the podcast “Bardown Beauties” alongside Wild Game host Kirsten Krull.

The NHL shared a heartfelt message, expressing, “The entire National Hockey League family extends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pierce family on the passing of Jessie Pierce and her three young children. Jessie loved our game and was a valued member of the NHL.com team for 10 years. We will miss her greatly.”
