Owen Tippett’s Injury Update

The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Tuesday that forward Owen Tippett will miss the second round of their playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes due to internal bleeding.

“He was unable to return for the second round against Carolina after suffering internal bleeding during the first round against Pittsburgh,” the team’s statement said. Tippett expressed that after undergoing various medical evaluations and treatments under the Flyers’ medical team, he is making progress and feeling better each day.

Tippett went on to share more about his recovery process. “Even though I could travel and participate in some practices with the team, the recovery just wasn’t progressing as quickly as I had hoped,” he noted. “It didn’t feel safe to continue playing.” He also expressed pride in his team’s achievements this season and appreciation for the support from fans.

In closing, he extended heartfelt thanks to his family and the medical and performance staff for their ongoing support.

While Tippett hinted at a potentially extended break to focus on healing, he remains optimistic about returning to training camp in September and is looking ahead to an exciting year for the organization.

During the 2025-2026 season, Tippett scored 28 goals and recorded 23 assists in 81 games. His performance had been improving significantly as the season progressed, especially leading into the playoffs, indicating that he is on the path to becoming a rising star in the league.
