Ozzy Osbourne celebrated at the 2025 VMAs with a stirring rock tribute featuring Aerosmith and Yungblud

Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne.

At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, a heartfelt rock tribute was dedicated to the late Prince of Darkness. The performance included Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, along with punk rocker Yungblud and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.

The tribute kicked off with a video montage featuring Ozzy’s son Jack and his four daughters, all wearing shirts emblazoned with “Ozzy.”

Yungblud took the stage next, channeling Ozzy’s iconic “All Aboard” call before belting out “Changes” and “Crazy Train” by Black Sabbath.

Later, he joined Tyler and Perry, earning enthusiastic applause as he exclaimed, “Mom, I’m back home.”

In the lead-up to the event, several stars, including Taylor Momsen from The Pretty Reckless, paid homage to the heavy metal legend on the red carpet. “Ozzy is very important to me. Black Sabbath means a lot,” she remarked.

Although she didn’t have the chance to meet him, Momsen expressed that Ozzy’s music felt deeply ingrained in her spirit. “I kinda feel like I know him, like he’s part of my family,” she added.

Meanwhile, Bettencourt shared his feelings about the tribute, stating that it meant “everything” to him. “As a guitarist who grew up listening to rock and metal, he was our godfather,” he reflected, celebrating Ozzy’s contributions to music and culture.

Yungblud also honored Ozzy by wearing a special cross necklace given to him by the rock icon before his passing.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, with his family confirming the news in a statement. His last performance occurred at the Black Sabbath Farewell concert in Birmingham, England, just days prior.

Tom Morello, who acted as music director during that final show, noted how he sensed Ozzy’s declining health during the performance, saying it felt like a heartfelt farewell.

For the last years of his life, Ozzy reportedly resided in Buckinghamshire, England, with his wife Sharon, wanting to spend his final chapter in peace. “His last day was surrounded by family, music, and what he called home,” a source shared.

A week after his death, an emotional funeral took place in Birmingham. Family members adorned their outfits with items meaningful to Ozzy. Sharon wore one of his wedding rings as a necklace, while their children also included personal touches: Amy wore a bat brooch in tribute, and Kelly sported blue-tinted glasses reminiscent of her father’s unique style. Jack opted for a black tie decorated with silver embellishments.
