Ozzy Osbourne Passes Away
Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, has died, leaving a profound sense of sorrow among his family and fans. His loved ones confirmed his passing on the morning of July 23rd, stating, “It’s with more sadness than words can express that we share our beloved Osbourne has passed away. He was surrounded by family and love.”
His wife, Sharon, daughters Amie and Kelly, and son Jack were with him during his final moments. In the wake of his death, several colleagues have taken the time to share their memories of the legendary musician.
Cameron Glendening, a director who first met Ozzy while working on the reality show “The Osbournes” in 2002, reflected on his experiences. He noted that Ozzy had remarkable dedication to his family, stating, “Sharon and Ozzy’s marriage history is legendary. What I saw was nothing but dedication.”
While the pair faced challenges in their relationship, including rumors of infidelity in 2016, they ultimately found their way back to each other and renewed their vows a year later. Glendening emphasized that their bond went beyond what was shown on television, saying, “It wasn’t for the cameras. They displayed real love and commitment.”
He recalled how deeply Jack and Kelly adored their father, noting that Ozzy had a way of bestowing love and respect on them that was unmistakable. “The love they had for him was evident. Today is particularly difficult for them,” Glendening remarked.
Reflecting on his time with the Osbourne family, he described it as “very special” and something he will cherish forever, expressing gratitude for knowing such a remarkable family.
Glendening also revealed that he had been in touch with other documentary crews following Ozzy’s death, sharing a collective sense of mourning. He drew a parallel between Ozzy and Keith Richards, humorously suggesting that he believed Ozzy would live forever.
Sharon had previously joked in 2010 about Ozzy’s seeming immortality, making light of the idea that he would outlast everyone. However, there were no specifics released about the circumstances of his passing, though Kelly dismissed rumors about a “suicide agreement” between her parents as unfounded.
Ozzy had recently reunited with Black Sabbath for a farewell concert and was able to witness Kelly’s engagement on the same day. Despite his health struggles, including a Parkinson’s diagnosis, he remained devoted to his family and continued to seek meaningful connections.
In memory of their iconic frontman, Black Sabbath shared a simple tribute on social media, stating “Ozzy Forever.” Guitarist Tony Iommi expressed his heartbreak over the loss, emphasizing the unique place Ozzy held in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ozzy Osbourne leaves behind his wife Sharon and their three children, alongside three more children from his first marriage. His legacy will undoubtedly continue to resonate with fans and loved ones alike.
