Body camera footage from July 13, 2024, captures the sound of sirens blaring after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and a Butler, Pennsylvania, police officer being heard saying, “I said some f**king thing.” [the Secret Service] “I need to post the f****** on here,” he said, adding that he did so five days before the shooting.
Body camera footage released by CNN captures the hectic moments after the assassination attempt on former President Trump.
A local cop can be heard pacing around annoyed, saying, “I told them they need to put some f******’s over here.”
Another officer responded to him and asked, “Who did you say that to?”
“We told the Secret Service on that damn Tuesday,” a local cop said.
Someone responded: “I thought you guys were supposed to do that.”
The local police officer replied, “No, we’re inside.”
He added: “I told them to put the motherfuckers here.”

Throughout the body camera interactions, it was clear that some officers weren’t concerned about certain locations because they assumed other officers would be there or, as was evident from the officers in Butler, Pennsylvania, had alerted the Secret Service to be there.
On July 16, 2024, three days after the assassination attempt, Breitbart News spoke with sources who criticized the Secret Service’s supplemental approach to the security detail following the assassination attempt on President Trump.
Sources say former presidents’ security teams are not as rigorous as those of sitting presidents, so when former presidents travel or hold public events, such as a rally or trip like Trump’s on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Secret Service assigns “back-up” security personnel to fill in any gaps in the existing security system.
One source explained that this means the Secret Service relies on other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents, local police, local advanced units, and advanced unit personnel for security. While the DHS agents used by the Secret Service may be competent at the jobs they are trained for, security detail work is not what they are trained for, the source noted.
