A Pennsylvania lawmaker is under intense scrutiny after a video posted on social media showed him harassing a bartender at a local restaurant.
State Rep. Kevin Boyle, a Democrat who represents part of Philadelphia County, is seen on video taken at the Gaul & Co. Malt House in Rockledge Township, Pennsylvania, in which he gets into an argument with a bartender. He is being investigated after he was seen threatening to close the bar.
“By the way, you can finish this bar,” the suspect, identified as Boyle, said in a video posted to social media. “I’m closing this bar.”
“This bar is over. Do you know who I am?” he continued. “The bar is closing tomorrow. Do you know who I am? This bar is closing!”

The Montgomery County Police Chief told reporters that law enforcement officers arrived at the restaurant around 12:18 a.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call from a bartender.
Boyle has not been charged with any crime, and police say there is no sign that he got into the car after the altercation.

Pennsylvania House Democratic leadership released a statement following the incident.

“We are aware of a video circulating on social media. It is deeply concerning. Congressman Boyle has been open about personal challenges. Our colleague and dear friend is here to help. “We are heartened by the fact that they are seeking the same,” he said in a statement. According to local media, the statement continued: “Our commitment to providing mental health services does not stop on the steps of Parliament House. One of the main reasons we are a strong advocate for access to mental health is that the challenges… The reality is that it can and does happen to anyone.” And seeking treatment should be encouraged, not stigmatized. ”

Police say they are investigating the “threats” Boyle made in the video. Boyle has yet to issue a public statement regarding the alleged outburst.
