Pacific Palisades to Host Car Show After Wildfire Recovery
About 18 months after the Palisades Fire devastated one of Los Angeles’ wealthiest areas, Pacific Palisades is gearing up for its first major car show to aid in community rebuilding.
The Pacific Palisades Motor Classic will occur on Saturday at the Palisades Village Green. It aims to showcase over 200 unique cars and is expecting around 3,000 attendees in a neighborhood still in the process of healing from the January 2025 wildfires.
That fire consumed 23,448 acres and damaged more than 6,800 buildings, marking it as one of California’s most destructive incidents.
More than a year later, the remnants of burned structures are still a visible reality in Pacific Palisades, as residents work hard to rebuild their lives.
David O’Connell, one of the event organizers, mentioned that the car show represents more than just a display of rare vehicles.
“We’re seeing light at the end of the tunnel. This show is kind of a way to bring people back into town, raise awareness, and generate commerce. It’s about getting ourselves back on the map,” O’Connell stated.
This free event aims to attract visitors, support local businesses, and raise funds for the Lowe Family YMCA, which is currently under reconstruction after the fire. Money raised through vehicle entries, sponsorships, and vendors will be donated to the YMCA.
O’Connell added, “We’re opening it up to the public because it’s crucial to keep the streets warm. We want plenty of people to come, kick the tires, and have a good time.”
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a variety of vehicles—from vintage classics and European sports cars to exotic supercars and modern electric vehicles.
Organizers describe the show as both a reflection of California’s automotive culture and a community fundraiser directly linked to Pacific Palisades’ recovery.
An awards ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m., with categories such as Best of the Year, Best Porsche, and Best Automotive Curiosity.
Vehicle admission costs $125, with a VIP package available for the same price that includes shaded seating, food, beverages, and exclusive viewing of premium awards. A combo package for entry and VIP perks is offered at $240.
