Palestinians are flocking to Gaza’s beaches this week as families take advantage of soaring temperatures and a lull in fighting in much of the region.

Aid groups and foreign critics of Israel continue to warn of “famine,” but there is evidence that hunger is abundant in the Gaza Strip. The IDF unit known as COGAT (Coordination of Territorial Government Activities) posted photos of markets in Gaza filled with fruit, vegetables and other food items for sale.

After images of Gazans on the beach circulated on social media, many pro-Israel voices pointed to the photos as proof that there was no “famine” or “genocide” in Gaza.
Israel is still planning an attack on the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, Hamas’ last stronghold.
