The Carolina Panthers appear to be tired of Bryce Young for now.
NFL Network reported Monday that the Panthers will bench Young for their Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The team will reportedly start Andy Dalton in Young's place.

Young was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. He started 16 of 17 games last season and threw for 2,877 yards and 11 touchdowns, but the first two games were underwhelming for the young quarterback who is still trying to find his footing.
Young threw for 245 passing yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions in blowout losses to the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers to open the season.
“I've been in this league a little bit, but this isn't my first time working with a young quarterback,” Panthers running back Miles Sanders said Sunday. “He's the No. 1 overall pick and everything he does is heavily scrutinized, not just here but around the league. I know he's very competitive and his confidence can get a little low at times, so I've been trying to let him know, 'I'm on your side.'

Chiefs aim for third straight Super Bowl title but injury hits again
Dalton, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, has been with the Panthers since the start of last season and played in three games last year, starting one, while finishing with 361 passing yards and two touchdowns.
He hasn't played regularly since the 2022 season as the Saints searched for a successor to Drew Brees. He was primarily the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2011-2019.
Dalton played in 133 games with the Bengals, passing for 31,594 yards and 204 touchdowns.

The Panthers invested heavily in Young, trading up with the Chicago Bears to acquire him in 2023, but Young's play didn't seem to impact the team's performance, as they were last in the NFL last season as well.
