Hayley Williams, lead singer of the American rock band Paramore, interrupted a recent performance to go on a partisan rant in which she claimed, without evidence, that former President Donald Trump wanted to “punish” the poor.
Her erratic rant, delivered at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday, also accused Trump of seeking to harm women, “people of color” and LGBTQQIAAP2S+ individuals.
Williams' attacks focused on Project 2025, which is not part of President Trump's policy agenda.
“Project 2025 is Donald Trump's strategy to control and punish women, poor people, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community,” she said. “Do you want to live in a dictatorship? Go vote!”
Trump has repeatedly promised to welcome all Americans into his mass political movement and improve the economic situation for all Americans.
This isn't the first time the rocker has forced his political views on an audience.
Last year, she slammed supporters of Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at a recent concert, telling the crowd, “If you vote for Ron DeSantis, you're dead to me.”
She once wore a T-shirt that read “Abolish the Supreme Court” while performing, and frequently expresses radical left-wing views at concerts and on social media, promoting sex-change medical procedures for children, calling them “necessary.”
