Parental Rights Groups on Significant, Positive Legislation: It 'Aids Families'

Multiple custody organizations engaged with the White House regarding President Donald Trump’s proposed “big and beautiful bill,” emphasizing its support for families.

Tina Descovich, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, Nicki Neily, Executive Director of Parents Defending Education, and Colette Casey, a mother of three from Florida, pointed out that the bill, which passed the House in May, provides tax credits to parents and promotes school choice.

“We’re really enthusiastic about President Trump’s ‘big and beautiful bill’ because it supports our families,” Descovich mentioned. “It strengthens parental rights and offers tax credits for children.”

Casey remarked that Trump’s intention is to empower parents financially, allowing them to utilize resources they deem fit for their kids.

Descovich further explained that the bill “advocates for school choices, enabling parents to determine the best educational paths for their children.”

Neily shared her observations from the last four years, stating, “I’ve seen public schools keep parents at arm’s length, hiding information from us regarding our children’s lives.”

The backing for Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” by Descovich, Neily, and Casey aligns with the American Children’s Federation advocating for school choices. They celebrated a recent press release noting the inclusion of a robust school selection tax credit.

This announcement followed the Senate Finance Committee releasing an updated version of the bill with some modifications.

AFC CEO Tommy Schultz stated, “Every state will soon have school choice options. We applaud the Senate leadership for ensuring a strong school choice tax credit is part of this bill. This gives the president a chance to fulfill his school choice campaign promise and advance K-12 education across the country when it reaches his desk.”
