The parents of a Texas teenager killed in a recent street shooting in Houston have a message for her killer.
Last week, the Houston Police Department's Homicide Unit released a new sketch aimed at identifying a man wanted in the Dec. 10, 2023, shooting death of Louise Jean Wilson, 17.
Louise's father, Daniel Wilson, told Fox News Digital: “We are Christians and no one is further from salvation.” “And we know that the person who did this is not a Christian at this time, but they could become one at any time. … We hope that something good comes from her death. .”
Louise was shot while driving on Interstate 45 in Houston around 1 a.m. to watch the sunrise with friends in Galveston.

Houston homicide Detective Caleb Bowling said last month that the 17-year-old, who was about to graduate from high school, merged into the right lane and unintentionally cut off the suspect's vehicle. The suspect driver, described as a black man in his 20s driving a black sedan, allegedly accelerated and “passed” Wilson's car on the driver's side before firing shots.

Louise was hailed as a hero for safely pulling her car to the side of the road to save the lives of her friends after being shot in the chest.
Daniel said people need to understand that “shooting a gun at a car” is “killing a person.”
“If you think shooting at a car is just going to scare someone, that's not the case.”
“It's much more serious than that,” Daniel said. “I don't know how these people think, but you have to be prepared for what they did to our daughter, shooting at a car, to mean killing someone.”
