Can you believe it was only two weeks ago that Paris 2024 got under way? So much SPORT has happened since that it feels like a lifetime ago that the eyes of the sporting world were trained on a somewhat mizzly and murky Seine and the athlete flotillas.

Céline Dion’s performance of Edith Piaf’s Hymne a l’amour saved what had been something of a haphazard opening ceremony and set the tone for the triumph of the fortnight to follow. It’s been a belter hasn’t it?

Please do get in touch at the details on the left of the page to have you say on all that has happened and also to comment on whatever the closing ceremony has in store. I can’t do this alone believe me.

Will the Olympic baton pass from Paris to LA go smoothly or is there a spillage or two in the pipes? It seems likely that Tom Cruise will abseil from the top of the Stade de France stadium roof and Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, H.E.R are slated to perform. As is, of course, Paris 2024’s superfan extraordinaire Snoop Dogg. Let’s hope it’s not Snoop in control of the metaphorical baton pass, he’s been known to drop it … oh I can’t even.

French musical royalty Air and Phoenix will also provide musical accompaniment to what Artistic director Thomas Jolly has promised to be a “science-fiction dream-like immersive journey through time”. You didn’t hear it here first.

All that and plenty more besides to come over the next few hours – the official start time of the closing ceremony is 8pm BST and it is due to finish at 10.30pm BST. I’ll be here for the duration. Let’s the Games begin close!

Final day report: If you think our intrepid reporters on the ground in Paris spent the final day of the Games running along cobblestone streets and sipping on Châteauneuf-du-Pape like it was past its expiration date; It is greatly misunderstood:

It’s not about the final medal table, is it?

The countdown has begun for the main eventHere are some reports and features from the final day’s activities in Paris. BBC television coverage of the event doesn’t start until 7pm. Countryfile is now on Channel 1, and airs a weekly programme on existentialism every Sunday evening. What on earth are you doing living in a studio apartment in South London when you could be happily living in the idyllic countryside of Herefordshire? Or maybe it’s just me? Channel 4 is showing the decidedly un-Olympic Secret World of Crisps and ITV is showing the Harry Potter films for the billionth time.

Anyway This is a better option than any of the above. The Guardian’s photographers have put together a stunning collection of photos from the past two weeks. Enjoy.

That’s it. Well that’s pretty much it.

Can you believe it was only two weeks ago that Paris 2024 kicked off? So much sport has happened since then that it feels like a lifetime ago when the eyes of the sporting world were fixed on the misty, murky Seine and the athletes.

Celine Dion’s rendition of Edith Piaf’s “L’amour” saved a somewhat haphazard opening ceremony and set the triumphant tone for the next two weeks. Great performance, right?

We have plenty of time in the next few hours to talk about your excitement, emotions, highs, lows, and favorite moments. Please contact me using the details on the left side of the page and comment on everything that happened and what’s planned for the Closing Ceremony. Trust me, I couldn’t do it alone.

Will the Olympic baton pass from Paris to Los Angeles go smoothly or will there be a leak in the pipes? Tom Cruise will rappel from the roof of the Stade de France stadium, and Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers and HER are scheduled to perform. of courseParis 2024 superfan, Snoop Dogg. Let’s hope it’s not Snoop who’s controlling the metaphorical passing of the baton. He’s been known to drop the baton… Ah, I can’t.

French music kings Air and Phoenix will also provide musical accompaniment for what artistic director Thomas Joly promises to be “an immersive time-traveling sci-fi dream,” and it’s not the first time we’ve heard them here.

All this and much more will happen over the next few hours. The Closing Ceremony officially starts at 8pm BST and finishes at 10.30pm BST. I’ll be here until the end. Let the games begin start close!
