Wells wins bronze medal in Grade V equestrian freestyle
The medals continue to flow for Paralympics GB today as Sophie Wells wins her ninth Paralympic medal and her first bronze with a final score of 72.257.
Belgium's Michelle Georges is the new Paralympic champion, winning her second consecutive gold medal since the Tokyo Games. Her routine was so smooth and coordinated that she won her sixth Paralympic gold medal with a score of 76.692 points.
Germany's Regine Mispelkamp won the silver medal with 73.231 points, improving on her bronze medal in Tokyo.
Equestrian: Sophie Wells of Great Britain, riding LJT Egebjargal's Samoa, scored 72.257% in the Grade V individual test at the Chateau de Versailles, putting the eight-time Paralympic medallist in bronze medal position, but there are still several more riders due to compete.
Britain's Jeffrey wins bronze in shooting, Ristic defends gold at Paralympics
Paralympics GB's Tim Jeffrey won bronze in the mixed 50m rifle prone SH2 final but missed out on at least a silver medal in the shoot-off by 0.1 (less than a millimetre). But he looked relieved, raised his arms and took a deep breath after leaving the range.
Serbia's Dragan Ristic, 45, defended his Tokyo title with 250.2 points, while Georgia's Vladimir Cinchalauri took the silver medal.

shooting: Great Britain's Ryan Cockville has just finished fifth in the mixed 50m rifle prone SH2 final, his best result in his fourth Olympic Games, while Paralympic GB's Tim Jeffrey is in strong position to make the podium.
cycling: Ghana doesn't have a velodrome, but the country still sends track athletes to the Olympics. Frederick Athol and his pilot, Rudolph Mensah, race around the track on brightly colored tandem bikes with spoked wheels and Heath Robinson airs.
On their first day on the track, Athor and Mensah finished last in the men's B 4,000m individual pursuit, clocking a time of 6:30.071, a Ghanaian and African record. They returned to the cheers of the crowd on Sunday, this time finishing last in the B 1,000m time trial.
The difference isn't all that surprising: compare Athol's bikes to those of other countries like the difference between a sprinting thoroughbred and a tired donkey.

Wheelchair tennis: Earlier today, Alfie Hewett, the number one seed on Great Britain's Paralympic team, comfortably defeated Ruben Spaargalen of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-4 in the men's singles quarter-finals.
Britain's Gordon Reid lost 6-0, 7-6 (5) to Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez and will miss his country's semi-final appearance.
Japan's second seed Tokihito Oda reached the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Tom Egbelinck of the Netherlands.
The final semi-final spot is currently being decided, with Spain's Martin de la Puente just winning the first set 6-2 against France's Stephane Houdet.
Choi breaks Paralympic record to win powerlifting gold medal
China's Cui Zhe won the gold medal in the women's 41kg at La Chapelle Arena with a Paralympic record of 119. Nigeria's Esther Nworgu narrowly missed out by one kilo to take silver with 118, while Brazil's Lara Aparecida de Lima won bronze with 109.
Abraham wins gold in the men's C5 individual time trial
Daniel Abraham of the Netherlands recorded the fastest time in the men's C5 individual time trial with a time of 35:51.79 to win his third Paralympic gold medal. Australia's Alistair Donohoe followed him 26.87 points behind, with France's Dorian Fouron taking the bronze medal. Great Britain's Blaine Hunt came in 11th in a time of 42:22.07.
Goalball: Ukraine defeated defending champion Brazil 6-4 in the men's semifinals. Vasil Olynyk scored five points for the winning team, which will face either China or Japan in the final.
Ms. Sarah Storey She continued her quest for a historic gold medal, winning the women's C5 time trial to claim her 18th Paralympic victory in nine Olympics, but criticised organisers for making the course half as long as the men's.
Storey won the time trial by 4.69 seconds over France's Heidi Gauguin, who was seven seconds behind at the first checkpoint at the 5.8km mark – but that was the only checkpoint on the entire course. The course was only 14.2km in total, half the race distance that the men would complete later in the day. After the race Storey said:
“It's the shortest Paralympic time trial ever and I feel really disappointed that I wasn't able to showcase parasport the way I wanted to. I'm very happy. I'm ecstatic. But I know there's always a way I can improve.”

Hello and welcome to day 7 of our action report from Paris. As always, a busy schedule with plenty of gold, silver and bronze medals to come.
It had already been an eventful day, with Sarah Storey winning the women's C5 individual time trial to claim her 18th Paralympic gold medal.
And today, even more medals are due to be awarded in wheelchair tennis, athletics and powerlifting.
